This is a weird thing I am facing in my project. Just a brief below...
We have an SSAS server and there are 2 users. User A and User b accessing it with same privileges.
User A is accessing a cube of ssas database. the cube has an hierarchy. when user A access the cube and expand the levels of hierarchy (lets say level 4 to 5)it takes 20 mins for cube to expand.
Now, when user b access same cube with similar privileges then it takes 1 minute to expand same level.
Note: both users are accessing cube via. Ms excel 2010 without any extra add ins
Interesting facts:
1. When User A access the cube from another machine then he is able to access the cubes in same time as that of user B.
2. When user A sends the excel file to user B via email and when user B open and access the cube using user A's excel file then even user B face slowness of level expansion.
Note: both user have same access permissions on ssas server and cubes.
when after opening the user A's excel file with ssas server connection user B change the connection properties by opening the properties section under data tab in excel, user b gives his own loging id and connect and then the excel file of user A works fine for user B.
What can be the issue !.?

Have you checked the connection strings? Are users A and B members of the same role?
