Hi friends,
Our customer is moving to SQL 2012 and they have installed SQL Server 2012 instance a new db server. I have a list of new database features like sequences etc introduced in 2012 version etc. But, I would like to know if there are any default database or server level settings that has changed from the previous versions that we will have to let the customer know.. Or if there are any new database/server level settings introduced in 2012? Please give your suggestions..
Thanks a lot

I'm sorry, but I'm getting tired of reading posts that basically say: "Please give me for free the answer that my client is paying me to provide."

I feel like I should apologize for Alvin as his answer might seem rude. But he makes a very good point.
There's a lot of documentation on the changes from what version to another and have a title that will match a simple Google/Bing search.

For what it's worth, I'm doing a SQL upgrade tomorrow.
The client and I have spent the last 6 *months* on and off doing the planning, testing, more testing, still more testing, even more testing and finally some testing to ensure that none of the (well documented) changes are going to cause them any problems.
May I suggest you sit down with your client and plan some testing?
Alternately, if you want me to do the work, drop me a PM and we can chat about rates and contracts.

Similar to Gail, I have recently wrapped up a few migrations. Going into every migration or upgrade with the client, the first thing and most frequent thing I will tell them is we need to have a test environment and we need to test the new server with the application.
A lot of time should be spent between the consultant and client in order to make sure they are going to be able to sustain business properly after the server change. There is plenty of documentation out there on what has changed, what is new and what has been deprecated.
If you need assistance, and similar to Gail, drop me a PM. Maybe if Gail is in the wrong region for you, I might be closer to you.

Ok thank you for your inputs. We are planning on installing/testing on development system first. Just wanted to know if there are any major changes/differences in the overall database/server level setting from the previous versions.
THank you.

As the consultant hired to do the job, these are things you should know before you convince the client to hire you.
You can try this to get a bit more info tho.

There are plenty of changes between the versions, new stuff, removed stuff, changed stuff, all well documented.
