hi guys
I am working on one scenario to figure out How to change the data retention period from 5 yr to 20yrs in SQL 2005.
when this server was setup the retention period was set up by someone to 5 yrs but this year they want to change it to 20yr so how to do ?
Any ideas?

What do you mean by 'retention period'? SQL Server has no automatic purging or data retention features (except around job history and the like)

Data Retention is a business rule around specific processes that have been created for your data. How to change that retention period will depend on how the process was implemented.
